FAQS

Q. What is a Thailand visa and why is it so important when traveling to Thailand?

A. Thailand visa is a document that you need to take before going on a trip to Thailand. Be it to explore the beaches or to go through the beauty of Bangkok, you would need to take a visa so that you can cross the border to enter Thailand. This visa is, however, issued only for the eligible countries. So before starting to apply for a visa you need to check if you are eligible for the same or not!

Q. I have heard about the Thailand visa-free policies, is it true?

A. Thailand having bilateral agreements with a lot of countries allows a visa-free visit for the nationals of these countries. However, it is allowed only for a limited period and there are some documents that are to be submitted in order to avail of this facility. The stay can range from 14 days to 60 days to 90 days depending on which country the person is from.

Q. If I take a visa to Thailand, how many days can I stay in the country?

A. If you take a visa for Thailand a total of 15 days is allowed for you to stay in the country. After this period, a foreigner should leave the country and can re-enter with a newly applied visa only. As the old visa is only for a single entry will not be valid anymore.

Q. For a Thailand visa what are the documents that I need to keep ready in order to apply?

There is a list of the documents that a foreigner willing to apply for a visa needs to keep ready. The list includes the following components:

1. A passport:

A Thai passport is of utmost importance while applying for a visa through an online or an offline method. This passport should contain all the information that is required t prove the identity of the foreigner. This information will be the main key to the application form. While filling in the application form, a scan of both the front page of the passport containing the information and the last page is to be submitted. One of the most important things to be kept in mind is the validity without which there are chances of cancellation of your application for visa requests. The validity should be of a minimum of 6 months. If it has a validity of greater than 6 months then it would be great! There should also be 3 empty pages available on the passport.

2. A good quality photograph:

A scanned copy of the photograph with high quality is needed. This photo should consist of a white background and the face of the foreigner should be visible. If there are any accessories worn such as glasses or other headgears covering the face then the photo will be rejected and a new one will be asked for. The photo should not be less than 6 months old before the application form is filled.

3. A confirmed return ticket:

A scan of the confirmed return ticket from Thailand is to be provided as proof. This will be attached along with the application form.

4. A sponsor’s address or a hotel booking copy:

A scanned copy of the booking of the accommodation in Thailand either at a hotel or you can also provide a sponsor’s address where you will be living after entering Thailand.

5. A yellow fever vaccination certificate:

An international certificate of vaccination must be provided for those countries whose names have been specified in the Thailand visa policy.

These countries without a copy of the certificate will not be allowed entry.

One of the things that you need to keep in mind is that any of the documents missing from the above-mentioned ones might lead to rejection of the visa application from the Thai Embassy. So it is important that you check for the relevant details to be completed and the validity should be met. If any of these documents are missing then you may first apply for the same and then continue with the application. Also if the validity is not met then extend it first and then apply.

With these documents completing the Thailand visa requirements you can now apply for the visa without a worry!
