An e-Visa is an official document permitting entry into and travel within Turkey. The e-Visa is an alternative to visas issued at Turkish missions and at the ports of entry. Applicants obtain their visas electronically after entering the required information and making payments by a credit card (Mastercard or Visa). You will be informed that your application has been completed successfully by e-mail with an approval letter. Passport control officers at ports of entry can verify your e-Visa on their system. However, you are advised to keep your e-Visa copy with you in case of any failure on their system. As in the case of other visas, respective Turkish officials at the ports of entry reserves the right to deny entry into Turkey to a holder of an e-Visa without any explanation.
Known as the gateway between Europe and Asia, Turkey has destinations other than its largest city Istanbul which can beat even the top tourist spots in the world. Lovers of history will find themselves at home here with Turkey having one of the oldest cities of the world, Konya, which is also the residence of the famous Sufi mystic Rumi and the Classical Metropolis of Ephesus. Nature can be seen in its unusual and fascinating form in Cappadocia, one of the hidden gems of the world. The first and foremost requirement for a Turkish visa is for you to have a passport whose validity is at least up to 6 months from the present date. Once you have your passport, the best way to go about it is to apply for an e-visa.
