Formerly known as Rhodesia, Zimbabwe is most famous for the magnanimous Victoria Falls, without which, no trip to the country is complete. To make sure that there is no mist blocking your view, the best season to visit Victoria Falls is between July and September. Zimbabwe is a mixed-pot which has everything for people who have an affinity towards history, architecture, and art in general. The Great Zimbabwean Ruins offer a glance at the country’s rich history whereas the Underground lake in Chinhoyi Caves is a different sight altogether. 46 countries are exempt from the visa-requirement but if you aren’t a citizen of those countries you need to opt for an e-visa or apply at the Zimbabwean embassy. Some countries also have the option of going for visa-on-arrival. The easiest and the fastest method is to get an e-visa if you are a citizen of the countries who are allowed to opt for the same.
People who are going to Zimbabwe for holiday purposes, meeting their friends and family, sightseeing and other private activities can go for the Tourist or the holiday visa.
A business visa is given to all those people who are going to the country for running a business or for providing services like consultancy etc. This visa is nonrenewable and it is valid for 30 days from the day of issue.
If you are going to Zimbabwe for a seminar, conference or workshop, conference visa is the way to go. Applicable for 30 days from the date of issue, this visa cannot be renewed.
If the only reason for you needing Zimbabwe’s visa is because you have a layover or you have to change flights to go to some other country, you can opt for the transit visa, which is non-renewable.
If you are a citizen of those countries who are allowed to opt for an e-visa, that would be the fastest way but otherwise, you can opt for a visa-on-arrival or get it beforehand from the Zimbabwean embassy.
If you aren’t a citizen of 46 countries who are not required to apply for a visa, you will have to have either an e-visa or visa-on-arrival or visa from the embassy.
