Kingdom of Bahrain
With thousands of years of history that covers the bronze age as well as western colonization, the Kingdom of Bahrain
is a small nation located in the Arabian Peninsula with modern cities that have skyscrapers decorating the skylines. With assistance from its natural oil and gas resources, Bahrain is a fast developing country that has retained its legacy from 9000-year-old history and yet has embraced modern Arab culture. Majority of the land in the Kingdom of Bahrain
is covered by deserts with most of the population residing in the northern regions of the world.
In geographical terms, the Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago – a term used to refer to a group of tiny islands that together comprise a bigger landmass. Bahrain is a group of 70 natural and 33 artificial islands. Of these, the Bahrain Island that makes up 83% of the country’s land area is the central island that also houses the capital of Bahrain, Manama. As an island nation, it is connected with the Arabian landmass through the famous King Fahd Causeway that connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia.
